China’s Three-year Plan of Blue Sky Campaign provides the framework for national air quality improvement. This includes 10% emissions reduction of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) by 2020 in comparison to 2015. Therefore, State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) and Standardization Administration of China (SAC) made the new GB standards. Those standards including 9 product types, such as interior floor coatings, marine coatings, woodware coatings, architectural wall coatings, protective coatings, vehicle coatings, cleaning agents, adhesive and printing ink. The products, such as paints, coatings, inks, adhesives, and cleaners, which will export to China have to meet the new GB standards. The followings are the scope and effective date.

GB 30981-2020 Limit of harmful substances of industrial protective coatings
